Australian L1A2 SLR bayonet. (ABCN167-3)(K 753)(JN 5-3)
L1A1 SLR cal. 7.62 / 9 mm F1 submachine carbine. No serial number. Excellent fullered parkerized blade with Bowie style tip. Rounded fullers. Excellent metal grey parkerized hilt and crossguard with muzzle ring. MRD 15 mm. No markings nor makers name as usual.
Excellent parkerized steel MK1 scabbard with no dents.
Comes with its Excellent sand coullor webbing belt frog with retaining strap as found, marked CH 8465-998 and owners name and a date: McCULLOCH 1961.
The L1A2 bayonet was adopted in 1957. Production began in 1958 until 1984 at Lithgow small arms factory. They do not show any markings. The rounded fuller models were made starting 1960.
The Australian made L1A2 SLR bayonet was also issued to New Zealand.
