English M 1853 Artillery sword bayonet. First model with brass grip.( ABCN1765)(K984)(JN0)
British M 1853 Artillery carbine. No serial number. Excellent- bright finished fullered yataghan blade. Brass grip with 16 ribs and a very short riveted blued external spring. Pommel side is marked: B 5 on one side and 41 on the reverse side. Top is marked H. Bright finished steel crossguard with backward swept quillon with round final and muzzle ring with cock comb. Bar on the Barrel type. Muzzle ring is flush with the blade tang. MRD 19,8 mm. T-slot and long type mortise slot.
Excellent and correct dents free bright polished steel artillery scabbard with olive shape frog stud.
An extremely rare bayonet. Less than 10.000 only were ever made in two years !. These were made in England and Belgium (Germany.)
