"Nederlands Infanterie officiers sabel M. 1852 " / Dutch Infantry officers sword M 1852. Excellent bright finished, but somewhat graying now, curved fullered blade with German makers trademark: Z in a shield (=JUNG-SOLINGEN) on the ricasso ( Covered by the felt washer) and the Dutch retailer's name and residence: Wm. Pauwels & Co te S HAGE (= Willem Pauwels and Son, Westeinde 317 The Hague. 1814-1874) in two lines in a scroll on the right side of the blade. The Dutch quality mark: EISENHAUWER (Old style) in a scroll on the left side. Red felt washer intact.
Beautiful and excellent detachable M 1852 brass hilt with a cast gilt brass pommel and an one piece brown horn grip, with a twisted brass wire winding. Brass hand guard with side bar. Crossguard with forward swept guillon.
Excellent Berlin-silver scabbard with a single loose hanging ring. Throat screws are missing. A few dings but no serieus dents to the Berlin-silver scabbard.
Early M 1852 infantry officers sword in an Excellent condition! Made between 1852 and 1860. The second hanging ring was removed after 1888.
Total length 97 cm. Width at ricasso 2,5 cm.
