Belgian FN Mauser M 1889/35 Infantry carbine. Serial number: 3428 on crossguard. Excellent blackened fullered blade. Belgian inspection marking a s over a crown in a trilob on the ricasso. Blade spine is marked: N in a box. Excellent blued T-slotted pommel and crossguard with forward swept guillon. Crossguard marked with a c in a box and a bushed muzzle ring MRD 15.5 mm. Press stud is marked : N in a box. Excellent wooden grips secured by two screw bolts and washers.
Excellent and correct blackened metal scabbard with no dents. Throat screws replaces by two alloy rivets. No markings to the frog stud.
These were altered and arsenal refurbished M 1889 Infantry rifle bayonets. The muzzle ring is bushed to 15,5 mm to fit the Mauser FN M1935 carbine. They saw intensively service by the Belgium colonial troops in the Belgium Congo in Afrika.
Rare colonial bayonet, not often found.
