German M 1884/98 Reichwehr bayonet, second model. by ERFURT, used by Weimar Republic police after WWI. 1920 marked.(ABC N 453-1)(K0)(JN99-1)
Mauser M98 rifle. Serial number 8667 on the ricasso. Very good blued fullered blade. Some light pitting and user spurs near the tip only. German maker's name: Crown over ERFURT and a police serial number on the ricasso. Prussian W over date: 15 and a crown over a Gothic inspection mark very crisp on the blade spine.
Very good + blued crossguard marked: 1920. Blackened pommel with T-O slot showing pitting on the right side. Slotted press button and no markings to the pommel.
Very good wooden grips secured with slotted screw bolts to the blade tang. Grip with flash guard.
Excellent and correct blued WWII scabbard marked F. W. HÖLLER over 1939 and serial number 4905 over d with no dents. Finial of the scabbard with a German inspection marking.
Very interesting bayonet. Refurbished (blued, slotted press button and screw bolts, new scabbard added) and used after WWI during the Weimar Republic by the German Police (Police serial number). The date: 1920 shows it has been inventoried under the terms of the Versailles treaty.
