German M 1898/05 nA sawback bayonet by H.MUNDLOS & Co. MAGDEBURG. (ABCN805-2-b)(K257)(JN86-2)

German Mauser M 1898 Rifle and Carbine. M98/05 saw-back bayonet. Superb bright finished fullered "Butcher" saw-back blade with the rare German maker name: H. MUNDLOS & Co. MAGDEBURG on the right ricasso. 58 sharp teeth. Blade spine is crisp marked with a Gothic inspection marking, but no date. Excellent bright finished pommel, flash guard, crossguard and quillon. A single German (Gothic) inspection marking on the pommel. Excellent ribbed black walnut grips secured to the blade tang by screw bolts. Oil hole in grip. T-O slot in pommel.
Excellent and correct blued steel scabbard with a single German inspection marking on the throat. No dents.

H. MUNDLOS & Co. MAGDEBURG is a rare maker for this model. They produced plain M 1898/05 bayonets in 1915 and 1917.  Saw-back bladed bayonets were in production in 1916 only.
