English used US M 1917 bayonet by WINCHESTER. (ABCN1040-1)(K322)(JN223)

Lee Enfield/ Eddystone M1917 rifle. Excellent parkerized fullered blade. A British broad arrow: /I\ over 1917 over the logo of the US maker: W in a circle (= Winchester) on the ricasso. On the reverse side: U.S., Flaming Bomb, X and an Eagle head stamp. Darkened pommel with an oil hole and crossguard with a muzzle ring MRD 15,5 mm. Excellent walnut wooden grips with two nuts secured to the blade tang by two screw bolts.
Excellent and correct British style black leather scabbard, marked with a large W and a broad arrow.  Three rivets and a round frog stud on the top mount. All stitches intact and no dents to the parkerized mounts.

Winchester made M 1917 bayonets are far less common than Remington M 1917 bayonets and pretty hard to find. Winchester made 395.000  M 1917 bayonets against Remington who made 1.565.644 bayonets!
The M 1917 bayonet was also used with a special adapter during both world wars on the Remington M 10 and the Winchester M 97 trench shotgun.
This example is marked with a British owner schip marking a Broad arrow (/I\) on the ricasso. These were issued and used by the British Home Guard.
