This is a very rare Bavarian M 1869 bayonet, altered in 1875 by making the blade lighter and modified again by grinding away a part of the mortise slot down, allowing the use of the bayonet model on the New model Werder M 1869 rifle, the M 1871 and M 71/84 Mauser rifles.

These bayonets are quite rare.
